Thank you for your professional representation of us and our property.
I initially asked Ed if he would be our agent in the sale of our condo. At the time, I had worked with Ed on the Board of Directors of the Mid-Valley Garden Homeowners Association for MANY years. He was the obvious choice to handle this Mid-Valley transaction because he so impressed me with the quality of his work as President of the Association. Certainly, his being in that position was a factor - but certainly not determinative. It was his intelligence, attention to detail, and professionalism that impressed me. I share these same qualities, with some qualifications. In my case, I would tweak "attention to detail". He didn't miss one detail during the process and often recognized and resolved issues even before they became issues. As for professionalism, that also describes me in my career. But, fortunately, my career didn't require the incredible patience that being a REALTOR®/broker requires. (I have never been accused of being a patient person.) Given his attention to detail and his patience, he was able to guide us all (including the buyer's REALTOR®) into overcoming a very large number of hurdles in the resolution of the matter. Suffice it so say, Ed was--as expected--great. Personally, I am grateful for his calm and patience, especially at the one point when I "lost it." (I told you that patience is not one of my very many positive attributes.)
Purchasing a home can be an enormously emotional and stressful experience. For many people, a real estate transaction is only an opportunity for investment. They place their confidence in a REALTOR® – his expertise and knowledge of the market – knowing, at bottom, that all they can lose is their money. When we entered your office, we came to fulfill a dream. A dream is a fragile and perilous thing to place in the hands of a stranger. We could not know, when we began this journey, our extraordinary good fortune in meeting Ed Stellingsma; but we know it now. Today our dream is a reality, and we owe that reality to Ed. How does one place a price on a dream? It is an almost incalculable debt to incur. Our gratitude is all we can offer in return, yet words falter, paling in comparison to what we have received. It is no small thing to meet someone who can always be taken at their word. Ever the consummate gentleman, Ed demonstrated with his candor, knowledge, and willingness to listen, his unquestionable integrity, his meticulous attention to detail, his serene calm, goodwill, and his deep understanding of human nature, that he was utterly worthy of our confidence, faith, and trust.
Ed has worked with us on more than one real estate transaction including the home we now own in Pebble Beach. He has repeatedly proven himself to be knowledgeable, dependable, and trustworthy. Ed's knowledge of the housing market is amazing. He has worked with so many homes over his career that he can tap into a much larger inventory of homes that aren't even listed. With other agents, we have not always felt we could depend on them to advocate for us. Ed is professional, unpretentious, and easy to talk to. We highly recommend Ed. We look forward to working with him again in the future.
Ed's additional background in architecture make him an exceptionally competent property and home evaluator from both the Buyer and Seller's perspective. His attention to detail assures the smooth and accurate flow of information through the contract negotiation period all the way to close of escrow. Two thumbs up!
This is the smoothest real estate deal we've ever done! You are good!
It has been a great pleasure searching for houses with Ed Stellingsma! We were seeking a second home as a convenient getaway from Silicon Valley. Thanks to Ed's knowledge and experience of the Monterey Peninsula area, we found our home in a fantastic location in Pacific Grove! We were fortunate to benefit from Ed's architectural and real estate expertise as he highlighted the "good, bad, and not-so-good" design elements and floor plans on all the homes we visited. THAT information was priceless! What he didn't know, he went out of his way to research and share his findings with us. Ed was the one who brought the Pacific Grove home to our attention! From what we learned along the way, one can always remodel a home and make it your own, but you can't change the location. Once we decided to proceed with an offer, Ed's negotiation skills paved the way for a smooth and expedited closing. His ingenuity from how to write up an offer to closing details such as requesting cleaners prior to our move-in date was very much appreciated. We're still in the process of moving in, but are definitely loving all that this home and location have to offer. Moving forward, we will definitely recommend Ed Stellingsma to all our friends and to anyone who is seeking a highly personable, experienced agent ready to address their real estate needs.
Thank you for all your patience, humor, efficiency, understanding, and tremendous expertise in real estate. You went beyond what you are required to do!
From your initial phone call to me in early July, until the end of August, what a journey! I can't thank you enough for your help from buying and selling the condo, setting it up with the seller to allow a long escrow, dealing with management, overseeing the renovation, to vetting and finding a tenant for it. I am so blessed to have you walk me through it with your professionalism and knowledge. I couldn't have done it without you. I truly appreciate it and answering all my questions, helping with escrow, and loan. I can't believe it all went so smoothly and I will definitely recommend you. If I do more real estate you are my go to person.
I am truly touched by all of your help and dedication during this time. I come across a lot of people in my business and I can say that very few people have the incredible work-ethic and professionalism that you showed during this whole process. The world truly needs more people like you in it!
